A little peek inside an in-home newborn session
Welcoming a new baby is one of life's biggest milestones, and there's something so special about documenting those first few weeks in the place where it all begins… your home.
Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing gorgeous little Soren and his family as they welcomed their second baby, a beautiful little boy. His big sister was completely smitten, and it was such a joy capturing this new chapter for them.
Every Home Is Different
One of the first things I do when I arrive is have a little wander through your home to find the room with the best natural light. For Soren's session, it was a beautiful bedroom where we captured most of the family portraits, solo newborn photos and all those tiny details you'll never want to forget.
Then we explored the rest of the house, documenting cuddles on the couch, moments in the nursery and a few photos outside. These lifestyle images help tell the story of this season of your family's life.
I Bring Everything We Need
You don't need to worry about packing a thing. I bring the studio to you!
I'll arrive with beautiful wraps and outfits for bub, blankets, a selection of dresses for Mum, my newborn beanbag for those timeless solo portraits, and a suitcase full of little tricks and gadgets to help keep everyone happy and relaxed.
You're in experienced hands, I'll take care of everything so you can simply enjoy your family.
A Relaxed, Baby-Led Experience
In-home newborn sessions usually last around two hours, but there's never any rush. We work completely around your baby, stopping whenever they need a feed, cuddle or little break.
If you have older children, don't worry if they're full of energy! Toddler chaos is all part of the fun, and some of my favourite images come from those beautifully imperfect moments.
I'll gently guide you throughout the session, so there's no need to worry about posing or knowing what to do. My priority is creating a calm, relaxed experience where everyone feels comfortable.
What You Can Expect
A calm morning at home. Lots of cuddles.
Tiny fingers and sleepy yawns. A few snack breaks for big siblings.
Beautiful natural light. And a gallery full of heartfelt images that capture not just your newborn, but your family exactly as you are in this most special season. Because these first weeks pass so quickly, and they're worth remembering forever.
